6 new startups you need to know: Do accelerators programmes really work?

ubitricity

The Japanese automaker Honda, EDF and Next47 invest – as already reported at the end of January – in the Berlin startup Ubitricity. Now the sum is clear: It will flow 20 million euros. Honda now holds just under 15% of the Berlin-based company, founded in 2008 by Frank Pawlitschek and Knut Hechtfischer. Around 50 employees worked for Ubitricity. The investment will flow into the expansion of charging infrastructure in Great Britain, Germany, France and the USA.

Oculyze

VC Constantia New Business invests a seven-figure sum in biotech startup Oculyze, a provider of cloud-based software that transforms mobile devices into powerful microscopes. In 2015, the company was founded by Kilian Moser, Ulrich Tillich and Katja Schulze.

Store-Anything

The ILB subsidiary BFB Brandenburg Kapital, Thelo Kapital and another private investor are investing 1.5 million euros in the Potsdam self-storage startup store-anything. As founders Jörg Schwarzrock and Anton Marintsev describe their startup, since 2014, initially as Pickup and Delivery Service, they have been offering a physical Dropbox.

Profishop

The investment company Takkt and a family office are investing a mid-seven-figure sum in the B2B online retailer Profishop. The Bremen startup, a portfolio company of the Swiss Business Angel Club Angelgate, delivers all products without intermediaries directly from the manufacturer to the customer. With the fresh capital, Profishop plans to further expand his team and product range and further expand into other European countries.

UX3D

3D Global Holding and the Unger Group invest an unknown amount in UX3D. The Munich-based company, founded in 2017, is the provider of autostereoscopic display technology that enables 3D without glasses. Target audience is the non-gaming market, such as the automotive or retail industries.

InterfaceMA

The Stuttgart project management company Drees & Sommer acquires a 20 percent stake in Berlin-based Proptech InterfaceMA, a provider of B2B software and services for the real estate industry. The company was founded in 2013 by Andreas Angerer and Axel Lüdtke.
