Amazon plans to open its largest logistics center in Spain

The e-commerce giant will place its largest distributor center in Spain at the Megapark Dos Hermanas business park in Seville, after having ruled out cities like Córdoba and Málaga.

The good communications by road and the close proximity to the port of Seville, where it will locate its logistics station . And also for the large space which is about 190,000 square meters built, Amazon has opted for the Andalusian municipality.

This land, as well as the building permit, has been granted to the Goodman Real State Spain investment center. With the help of this company, Amazon is expected to sign the rental contract in the coming days.

Nearby sources point out that, this new Amazon large warehouse in Spain will generate an approximate of a thousand new jobs when it is launched. Because it is expected to be fully operational in the year 2021. It will also be precisely the year when the company’s new logistics station opens at the Port of Seville, which will have some 30,000 square meters.

On the other hand, these new facilities come to endorse the company’s decentralization strategy with logistics centers beyond cities such as Barcelona and Madrid. This is something that will also strengthen Amazon’s distribution network in southern Spain, improving service in one of the areas with the greatest demand from the company, such as Seville and its metropolitan area.

Another of the advantages that Amazon will have when locating this center in the Sevillian location will be to have a dock available in the port. From which it will expedite the shipments to its customers located in the Canary Islands.
