Crypto Valley Association elects five new board members

Zug – The Crypto Valley Association (CVA) has elected five new board members at its 2019 Annual General Meeting: Daniel Haudenschild, Kevin Lally, Kamales Lardi, Mattia Rattaggi and Martin Berweger replace the outgoing board members Oliver Bussmann, Wasily Suvorov, René Hüsler and Nicolas Schobinger and will continue to drive the building of the Swiss and global blockchain ecosystem.

In a period of rapid growth, the organization has more than 1,600 members worldwide. Now, the Crypto Valley Association is entering a phase of consolidation, highlighted by the election of new board members. At the January 31st General Assembly in Zug, CVA membership elected Kevin Lally, Kamales Lardi, Mattia Rattaggi and Martin Berweger to the association’s board and Daniel Haudenschild as president. Haudenschild only resigned as CEO of Swisscom Blockchain on Wednesday. Board members Maria Gomez and Jenna Zenk resigned following the Annual General Meeting.

In his opening speech, outgoing President Oliver Bussmann highlighted the rapid growth of the Crypto Valley ecosystem and the achievements of CVA: “We have established Crypto Valley as one of the world’s leading ecosystem of blocks, building relationships and alliances with start-ups, governments, Companies, universities, investors as well as blockchain enthusiasts have been established “.

In 2018, the association achieved a number of important milestones:

Introduction of the FINMA ICO Directive with three regional events with over 600 participants

Successful launch of the Crypto Valley Conference as the first IEEE Blockchain Conference

Guidelines for the opening of bank accounts for blockchain startups in collaboration with the Swiss Bankers Association

Blockchain consultation with the State Secretariat for International Finance (SIF)

Publication of the first Swiss Accounting Standard for ICOs with utility and asset tokens under EXPERTsuisse standards and Swiss VAT

Three new strategic partners with Lakestar, Consensys and BDO Switzerland

Award “Influencer of the Year” of the Swiss FinTech Awards

New CVA President Haudenschild said: “I have always been impressed with CVA’s contributions to make Switzerland one of the first sites for blockchain and cryptographic innovation. Its a lot to do. I am confident that the CVA network can be a powerful driver for this evolution. “(CVA / mc)
