“Female tech talent”: Laboratory teaches exclusive programming courses for women

Aware that it is necessary to have more women in the field of technology, the social startup Laboratorio, designed a six-month intensive course called “Bootcamp”, which teaches programming exclusively to women. An instance that holds open calls throughout the year.

Tech and women

The world of technology represents a great opportunity in labor terms, however, it continues to be a masculinized field, since there are no diverse teams that incorporate the participation of women. Proof of this is that in Chile only 5% of women work in the information technology (IT) market.

Despite this reality, technology is a fairly democratic item in terms of recognition of skills and talents, making it a good job option for women of all ages.

Aware that it is necessary to have more women in technology, the social startup Laboratorio, designed a six-month intensive course called “Bootcamp” with which it teaches programming exclusively to women. An instance that has open calls throughout the year and whose only requirements are to be over 18 and identify as a woman.

How can you apply?

You just have to enter the laboratorio.la page, click to apply and complete data in the form.

It should be noted that once the bootcamp ends, students already graduated are connected with large technology companies, so that they can receive a job offer and begin to work as programmers.
