Twitch silently reintroduces Bitcoin payments

The leading platform for streaming games, owned by Amazon, Twitch, has enabled the payments of bitcoin (BTC) and bitcoin cash (BCH.

In March Twitch had discretely eliminated bitcoin and bitcoin cash as payment options for subscriptions by eliminating Bitpay as a payment method. According to the report, Bitpay has been enabled again as a payment processor on the platform.

Bitcoin and bitcoin cash can be found as payment options in the section dedicated to the less common payment methods on the subscription payment page. The renewed authorization of these currencies as payment options has not been announced on the company’s blog or in a press release.

Bitcoin – after trading laterally in the range of USD 3,000 to USD 4,000 during the first months of the year – recently recovered and broke USD 13,000 yesterday. At the close of this edition, bitcoin has fallen by 5.47% on the day and grew by almost 32% in the week.

Previously, it was learned that BitMEX, the largest cryptocurrency trading platform in the world, had record volumes in its operations when Bitcoin reached USD 13,000.

The San Francisco-based payment company, Square, had also enabled bitcoin deposits on its popular Cash App platform.
