Two Austrian startups begin to work together

At the end of 2017, Google invested in the Viennese startup StreamUnlimited. Now, the company itself acquires shares in IoT specialist guh BmbH, which offers a solution for the Internet of Things with nymea.io.

StreamUnlimited, which specializes in audio streaming and voice assistant solutions for consumer electronics, is gaining 20 percent from the Viennese startup guh GmbH, the provider of the Internet of Things platform nymea.io.

The details of the deal were not disclosed, the deal was accompanied on StreamUnlimited pages by M & A expert i5invest.

StreamUnlimited had received an investment by the US company Google at the end of 2017 and, according to its own statements, profited greatly from the partnership.

The two Viennese companies now fit together like pot and lid. The guh GmbH around the founding team Simon Seres, Bernhard Trinnes, Simon Stürz and Lukas Mayerhofer offers with nymea.io an aPaaS (application platform as a service) solution for the Internet of Things.

StreamUnlimited, in turn, has developed the StreamSDK product, a modular software that combines audio streaming and voice assistance capabilities that are used, among other things, in digital speakers.

Established in 2016, guh GmbH is a medium-sized company among its customers. The StreamUnlimited solution enables audio manufacturers to integrate the functionality of Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa and Apple Airplay 2 into their products.

StreamUnlimited CEO Frits Wittgrefe sees the investment as an “exciting strategic partnership for StreamUnlimited and our clients”. “We’ve been thinking about ways to expand our IoT business for a while, to give our customers greater variety in their product development,” added CTO Markus Rutz.

“In nymea, we see fantastic, unique software as the foundation of all IoT / Smart Home projects, as it also architecturally complies with our modular, flexible StreamSDK. “
