Businesses will sell through social networks with the new payment platform

New platform for digital payments

The commercial activity with which different business ideas count, is made easier and more practical, due to the functionality of social networks and the use of applications that allow easy access to products and services by the consumer. For this reason, the Bancolombia Group presented a new payment platform to boost the market in the country.

The banking entity announced this March 22 that it closed a commercial agreement with Fintech Vlipco – provider of technology and support services-, to launch a payment gateway that will allow people and small businesses to sell just by sending a link to your buyers through social networks. The news was given within the framework of the general meeting of shareholders of the bank, a space in which a distribution of profits with a dividend of $ 1,092 per share was also approved.

The aforementioned platform that will be on the market in the coming months and that will also apply to the traditional model of electronic commerce, will have the highest international certification for financial data protection: PCI DSS level 1 (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard), maximum level of financial data protection.

For Juan Carlos Mora, president of Grupo Bancolombia, “this is an initiative that revolutionizes the relationship between banks and fintechs and that contributes significantly to the development of the country, since it responds not only to the needs of new businesses and users, but to the challenges of these companies”.

How will it work?

To make use of this platform it will be enough to have a Bancolombia savings, current or Nequi account, and businesses will have this solution available in just 10 minutes, without the need for technological integrations or physical documents.

After this process the trade will be enabled to sell by social networks and Internet, and choose if you want to receive daily, weekly or monthly payments. On the other hand, the experience of the users will be improved, because they will be able to choose the payment option that suits their needs, this includes a virtual datáfono.
