BMW and Daimler establish urban mobility joint startup

BMW and Daimler are jointly investing one billion euros in mobility service providers and founding five joint ventures. One of them is the parking service startup Park Now.

Daimler and BMW operate Park Now, a joint venture to help find and pay for parking. The parking service can find free parking spaces and makes it possible to use parking garages without having to buy a ticket, it pays cash and automatically.

According to Park Now, the search for parking spaces accounts for 30 percent of inner-city traffic. The service provider should help reduce this search traffic.

5 companies with 1,000 employees

Park Now claims to have 30 million customers in 1,100 cities. And, together with Charge Now, led by Jörg Reimann and Thomas Menzel. BMW and Daimler are investing in Park Now and Charge Now these two startups in the joint ventures Reach Now, Free Now and Share Now.

Globally, up to 1,000 people are expected to work in the five joint ventures. BMW and Daimler speak of 60 million customers worldwide.
