Support to the development of startups that contribute to the modernization of the financial system

Seeking to adapt to the digital revolution driven by the new businesses and the requirements of customers in the matter. The Consorcio Group agreed an investment of US $ 500,000 to around $ 350 million in the platform PagoFácil, aggregate of means of online payments.

The alliance will allow the Chilean Fintech, which already has more than 4,000 clients from all over the country, to start its internationalization to two Latin American countries during the last quarter of 2019.

The corporate manager of Consorcio Development, Tomás Zavala, said that, the decision to support the development of this platform is part of the strategic determination of Consorcio to support the development of startups that contribute to the modernization of the financial system. Along with this, he stressed, that the company is in a process of transformation, their obsession is to meet the needs of our customers, deliver the best experience and customize the service we give them.

The investment is the starting point of development process for Fintech and Insuretech

Zavala added that, the investment in PagoFácil is the starting point in the promotion and development process in the world of fintech and insuretech through collaborative work with startups and direct investment, and we are very happy to start this journey with this platform that shows a solid growth and enormous potential.

For his part, the founder of www.pagofacil.cl, Cristián Tala, stressed that, they have always had the conviction that it is important to create a partnership between Fintechs and banking to be able to grow and offer people a service according to their needs. In this regard, he expressed that, they are convinced that the products and services that we can create in conjunction with the Consorcio Group will be very innovative and of high impact for users.

Tala added that, there is no doubt that the investment made by the Consorcio Group opens the doors for other banking institutions to join the new bank, the bank of the future.

The Association of Financial Technology Companies of Chile, FinteChile, applauded this investment that unites the experience of Consorcio with the technological development of www.pagofacil.cl in the financial field. Its Executive Director, Ángel Sierra, said they celebrate this milestone because the complementarity and synergies that are pending to capitalize together the traditional financial system and fintech companies are corroborated.
