smart sleep

Media Ventures, the investment company of the media entrepreneur Dirk Ströer, invests in the Düsseldorf-based company smartsleep. The startup, known from the Vox show “The Cave of the Lions,” distributes a nutritional supplement for better sleep. In the fifth season of the show AWD founder Carsten Maschmeyer and extreme investor Ralf Dümmel invested 1.5 million euros (record value) in smartsleep. The valuation of the start-up company, which was founded by Markus Dworak, was 4.5 million euros at that time. Now the rating is 15 million euros. Thus, the value of the company has increased six-fold within a few months.

Sviper

The Swedish entertainment group Modern Times Group (MTG), together with the old investors – such as Global Founders Capital – is investing 2.8 million US dollars in the Hamburg games startup Sviper. A total of $ 4.3 million has flowed into the company, which handles mobile games. Sviper was founded in 2016 by Ole Schaper, Mark Buchholz and Michael Reichert.

Rockets of Awesome

BurdaPrincipal Investments (BPI), the investment bank of the media company Burda, is investing 19.5 million US Rockets of Awesome with existing investors. The New York company offers children’s clothing based on a boxing model that is similar to a subscription. Rockets of Awesome was founded by Rachel Blumenthal. Gwyneth Paltrow, Serena Williams and Kirsten Green, founders of Forerunner Ventures, also invested in the startup.
