Google announced the week of March 25 the creation of a council to analyze the challenges that arise from the development of artificial intelligence; but a couple of experts are pointed out by controversial positions and statements.

The Advanced Technology External Advisory Council (ATEAC) group is composed of the economist and privacy researcher Alessandro Acquisti, the mathematician Bubacarr Bah, the machine learning researcher De Kai, the industrial engineering expert Dyan Gibbens, the psychologist Joanna Bryson, the expert in public policy Kay Coles James, digital ethicist Luciano Floridi and foreign policy expert William Joseph Burns.
This council will meet throughout 2019 and will hold four meetings, the first of which will take place in April, Kent Walker, vice president of global affairs at Google, said in a statement. Walker added that the council will publish reports covering the topics and findings of its meetings. “Council members represent their individual perspectives and do not speak for their institutions” said Walker.
Two of its members, Kay Coles James and Dyan Gibbens already cause controversy
Os Keyes, a researcher at the University of Washington, has published tweets from James in which he calls “criminals,” “sex and drug traffickers,” immigrants who cross the border into the United States. James is president of the Heritage Foundation, a conservative US body.

Gibbens’ controversy
Gibbens, on the other hand, has generated controversy by being the founder of a drone company, Google had an internal conflict after it became involved in Maven, a project to help the US Air Force. with images generated by drones. The Google Maven project was so criticized that the company had to close it after dozens of employees resigned in protest.
