The Viennese startup MoonVision, which specializes in AI image recognition, has raised EUR 1 million under the lead of the Vienna-based investment company ARAX Capital Partners.
The Viennese startup MoonVision started with the visual recording of Grillhendln. The company’s Machine Learning-based Object Tracking technology enabled food counting and categorization in this first use case. Only recently was a corresponding cooperation with the Vienna Hotel Sacher announced. But also in the industry, the Viennese startup is working on application cases – for example in determining deficiencies. Customers include Audi, Miba, Vodafone and Webasto.
Wiener ARAX takes over lead at million investment
“MoonVision is the hottest iron in the Austrian Artificial Intelligence scene. We were extremely impressed after the due diligence process” says Thomas Cimbal, Managing Director of ARAX Capital Partners. His Vienna-based company now took over the lead in a one-million-euro capital round for MoonVision. The capital should flow into the internationalization, the product development and the expansion of the team of the team, according to the startup.
“Well-filled order books” at MoonVision
“With the current capitalization through customer projects, our partner ARAX and existing funds, we have an excellent foundation to achieve our ambitious goals. The order books are well filled and now we can plan the next growth steps more offensively” says Kamil Kula, COO of the startup. The 15-strong team is working hard on the MoonVision Toolbox, adds CEO Florian Bauer. By 2020, you want to make it to the top of the world. “We are constantly developing new features and improving the user experience. It gives business customers the tools they need to tap the almost limitless world of computer vision and automated discovery”. In 2019, ISO certification will also be an integral part of the roadmap.
