Linkedin investor Bessemer stands for these German startups

When Bessemer Venture Partners invests in a company, you should take a look! At Startup, such as Linkedin, Pinterest, Shopify, Twilio, twitch, and QWix, the American financier, who has made over 200 investments, had a very good nose in the past. In Germany Bessemer is so far only very restrained active. The venture capitalist, for example, together with other lenders, invested 30 million euros in the Berlin-based FinTech Mambu, a banking engine.

Investing in startups, a true commitment

In addition, the well-known investor, after all, one of the oldest Valley donors, invested $ 20 million in the American-German shipping startup Shippo, which was launched by Laura Behrens Wu and Simon Cross. The start-up was once founded in Munich, but has resided since its inception at 500 startups in the US. Shippo has developed an API technology that enables small and medium-sized businesses, in particular, to simplify the distribution of their online products to customers. Shippo can only be described as a US-Satrtup with German roots.

But Bessemer has also invested in the Berlin startup Zenmate

The company then offered a simple but useful browser plug-in that could protect its privacy on the Internet. A few years ago, ZenMate actually had a great future ahead of it. This was followed by layoffs, a new leadership team and finally the sale to Kape Technologies. The buyer paid just 4.8 million euros for the young startup, which had collected significantly more capital. By the end of 2017, 8.3 million had flowed into Zenmate. As a result, Bessemer can book the investment in Teamviewer. Founded in 2005, the company emigrated in 2014 under the umbrella of Permira – for 870 million euros.

Overall, Bessemer Venture Partners is still very restrained in Germany

With Teamviewer, the American financiers have already celebrated a huge success in this country. The new investment in Mambu after the Zenmate flop but new hope that Bessemer Germany has further on the screen.
